Cordless Shark vacuum indicates an error when switching between hard floor and carpet modes; brush mode LEDs flash and mode will not change

Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting switches or wiring.

• 1. Operate mode switch repeatedly: With the battery removed, toggle the floor type or brush mode switch 20–30 times to clear any internal oxidation. Reinstall the battery and test again.
• 2. Inspect switch area for damage: Check for cracks, stuck buttons, or debris around the switch. Clean the area with a dry cloth.
• 3. Test brush function with direct connection: If possible, connect the floor nozzle directly to the handheld unit (bypassing the wand) and test. If the brush works in this configuration, the wand wiring may be faulty.
• 4. Swap wand or nozzle if available: Use another compatible wand or nozzle to see if the problem follows the accessory or remains with the main unit.
• 5. Replace mode switch or main PCB: If the switch feels loose or does not click, it may need replacement. If the switch is mechanically sound but the mode still will not change, the brush control circuit on the main PCB is likely defective and requires professional repair or main body replacement.
