Cordless Shark vacuum stops shortly after starting; motor cuts out and E2 is indicated by flashing battery/brush LEDs

Possible Causes
Clogged floor nozzle airway, Blocked wand or intake tube, Severely dirty pre‑motor filter restricting airflow, Jammed brushroll causing high current draw
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the vacuum OFF and remove the battery before clearing any blockages or touching the brushroll.
- 1. Check for clogs in the floor nozzle: Detach the motorized floor nozzle. Look through the suction channel and side airways. Remove hair, debris, or objects using your fingers or a long, non‑sharp tool. Ensure the suction path is completely clear.
- 2. Inspect the wand and intake: Remove the wand from both the handle and the floor nozzle. Look through the entire length toward a light source. Push out any blockage with a flexible rod or broom handle, taking care not to crack the plastic.
- 3. Clean pre‑motor filters: Open the dust cup and remove the foam and felt filters (typically located above or behind the dust bin). Tap them gently over a trash can to remove dust. If your manual allows, rinse foam filters with cool water only, squeeze out excess water, and let them air‑dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinstalling. Never reinstall damp filters.
- 4. Check brushroll for jams: Turn the floor nozzle over. Remove any hair, string, or fibers wrapped around the brushroll and end caps. If your model has a removable brushroll or DuoClean rollers, release the locks and pull them out for thorough cleaning.
- 5. Test in standard power mode: Reassemble the vacuum, reinstall the fully charged battery, and test in the lowest power setting first. If it runs normally, gradually increase power. If it still shuts off quickly, the main motor or control board may be failing and should be inspected by a technician.
