Swan Airflow Restriction / Cyclone Blockage

Vacuum has very weak suction even with fully charged battery

Possible Causes

Clogged cyclone assembly, Blocked extension wand, Dust build-up in floorhead inlet, Full dust bin

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Switch OFF and remove the battery before dismantling.

  • 1. Empty bin: Open the dust bin flap and empty all contents. Tap gently to remove stuck debris.
  • 2. Clean cyclone: Remove the cyclone unit from the bin. Tap it over a bin to dislodge fine dust. Use a soft brush to clean the mesh shroud. Do not wash unless Swan specifies it is washable.
  • 3. Check wand and tools: Look through the extension wand and crevice tools. Push through any blockages with a broom handle or similar blunt rod.
  • 4. Inspect floorhead: Remove the motorised floorhead and check the neck and internal channels for blockages. Clear any debris.
  • 5. Clean filters: Remove and clean the pre-motor and post-motor filters as per the manual. Allow to dry fully before refitting.

After reassembly, test suction again. If still weak, the main motor fan may be damaged and the motor assembly may need replacement.
