Vacuum leaves lines of debris on carpet and does not pick up well from floor

Safety first: Remove the battery before inspecting the floorhead.

• 1. Check brush rotation: With the vacuum assembled, briefly run it and look at the brush bar. If it is slow or intermittent, clean and free it from hair and debris.
• 2. Inspect bristles: Remove the brush bar and check for worn-down bristles, especially in the centre. Replace the Swan brush bar if bristles are flattened or missing.
• 3. Clear suction channel: Look into the rear of the floorhead where it connects to the wand. Remove any blockages.
• 4. Adjust cleaning mode: If your Swan model has a hard floor/carpet switch, ensure it is set correctly for the surface.
