Possible Causes
Hair or string tightly wrapped around brush bar, Foreign object jammed in floorhead, Seized brush bar end bearing, Faulty brush motor in Tower floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery. Never work on the brush bar while the unit is powered.
- Step 1 – Remove brush bar: Unlock the brush bar access (usually a side cap or bottom plate). Slide the brush bar out of the floorhead.
- Step 2 – Clear debris: Use scissors to carefully cut away hair, threads, and fibres from the brush and especially from the ends near the bearings.
- Step 3 – Check bearings: Spin each end of the brush bar by hand. If it feels rough, stiff, or seized, the bearings are worn. Replace the Tower brush bar or the complete motorised floorhead if the bar is not sold separately.
- Step 4 – Inspect for obstructions: Look inside the floorhead housing for lodged objects (coins, stones, toys). Remove anything blocking the brush chamber.
- Step 5 – Test brush motor: Refit the brush bar, reinstall the battery, and briefly power on. If the brush still does not rotate and E4 returns, the internal brush motor or PCB is likely faulty.
- Step 6 – Replace floorhead: Replace the complete Tower motorised floorhead assembly if the motor is burnt or non‑functional.
