Possible Causes
Worn motor bearings in main motor assembly, Debris lodged in motor impeller, Misaligned motor shaft, Damage from previous overload or overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery and do not continue to run a noisy motor, as it may fail catastrophically.
- Step 1 – Rule out floorhead noise: Run the vacuum with the motorised floorhead removed. If the noise disappears, the issue is in the floorhead, not the main motor.
- Step 2 – Inspect main body: If the noise comes from the main body, the motor bearings or impeller are likely damaged.
- Step 3 – Check for obstructions: Remove the bin and cyclone to access the motor inlet. Look for foreign objects near the impeller and remove them carefully without touching the blades if possible.
- Step 4 – Replace motor assembly: If noise persists, replace the complete Tower main motor assembly. The motor is not typically serviceable at component level.
