Possible Causes
Dirty pre-motor filter with organic debris, HEPA filter saturated with odor-causing particles, Dust bin not cleaned regularly, Moist debris left inside bin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery pack before cleaning filters or the dust bin.
- Empty and wash dust bin: Remove the bin and empty all contents. If the manual allows, wash the bin with mild soap and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
- Clean or replace filters: Wash washable filters with lukewarm water only (no detergents) and allow them to dry for at least 24 hours. Replace non-washable HEPA filters if they smell or are heavily soiled.
- Avoid vacuuming wet material: Do not vacuum damp or wet debris, as this promotes mold growth inside the vacuum.
- Deodorize gently: After cleaning and drying, you may place a small amount of baking soda in the dust bin (not on filters) to help absorb odors, but avoid scented powders that can clog filters.
