Possible Causes
Dirty or damp filters, Dirt bin not cleaned regularly, Vacuum used to pick up moist debris, Bacteria growth in filter foam
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before cleaning filters or the bin.
- 1. Empty and wash the bin: Remove the bin and wash it with mild detergent and warm water if the manual allows. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
- 2. Clean or replace filters:
- Wash washable filters as per the manual and allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
- Replace non-washable HEPA filters if they smell musty or appear heavily soiled.
- 3. Avoid vacuuming damp material: Only use the vacuum on dry debris unless it is a specific wet-and-dry model.
Persistent odours after thorough cleaning usually indicate filters that need replacement.
