Possible Causes
Battery cells degraded from age and charge cycles, Battery not fully charged, Using boost mode continuously, High-resistance connections at battery terminals
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use only genuine Vax chargers and batteries.
- 1. Fully charge the battery: Charge for the full recommended time (often 3–4 hours) until the charger indicates full.
- 2. Test on normal mode: Avoid using boost/turbo mode during testing. Time the runtime on standard power.
- 3. Clean battery contacts: Remove the battery and clean the contacts on both the battery and vacuum with a dry cloth.
- 4. Compare with a new or known-good battery: If available, test with another compatible Vax battery. If runtime improves significantly, the original battery has lost capacity.
Battery packs naturally lose capacity over time. Replace the battery if runtime is no longer adequate for your cleaning needs.
