Possible Causes
Hair or string wrapped around brush bar, Jammed brush bar end bearings, Faulty brush bar motor in the motorised floorhead, Damaged wiring between main body and floorhead
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF and remove the battery before working on the floorhead or brush bar.
- 1. Remove the floorhead: Detach the motorised floorhead from the wand and place it upside down on a flat surface.
- 2. Remove and clean the brush bar:
- Release the brush bar using the side cap or coin-lock mechanism.
- Lift out the brush bar and cut away all hair, threads, and fibres from the bristles and end caps.
- Check that both ends of the brush bar spin freely. If an end cap is seized, clean out debris; if still stiff, the brush bar assembly should be replaced.
- 3. Inspect the brush bar housing: Look for debris lodged in the brush chamber or around the drive gear. Remove any obstructions.
- 4. Check the electrical connection:
- Inspect the electrical contacts on the neck of the floorhead and the end of the wand for bent or dirty pins.
- Clean gently with a dry cloth; do not use liquids on electrical contacts.
- 5. Test the brush bar: Refit the brush bar and floorhead, reinstall the battery, and briefly power on. Toggle the brush bar on/off button (if fitted). If the brush still does not spin and E3 returns, the brush motor or wiring is likely faulty.
Persistent E3 errors after cleaning usually require replacement of the motorised floorhead assembly or brush bar motor module.
