Possible Causes

Failed main control PCB in the handheld body, Internal short from liquid ingress, Damaged power switch or trigger assembly, Corroded internal connectors between PCB and motor/battery

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Remove the battery and ensure the unit is completely disconnected from any charger.

  • 1. Inspect for liquid damage: Check around the motor vents, battery bay, and trigger area for signs of moisture, corrosion, or residue. If the vacuum was used to pick up liquids (on a non-wet model) or exposed to spills, internal damage is likely.
  • 2. Power cycle: Remove the battery for at least 5 minutes. Press and hold the power trigger for 10 seconds (with battery removed) to discharge residual power. Refit the battery and try again.
  • 3. Check the trigger/switch: Squeeze the trigger and feel for a positive click. If the trigger is loose, jammed, or does not return, the switch or trigger mechanism may be broken.
  • 4. Visual inspection of terminals: With the battery removed, inspect visible internal connectors for signs of burning or melting. Do not insert tools into the housing.

If E5 persists and there is no obvious external cause, the main control PCB or trigger assembly will need replacement. This typically requires disassembly of the handheld body and should be carried out by a qualified technician or service centre.
