Possible Causes
Heavily clogged pre-motor filter, Blocked cyclone shroud, Saturated post-motor/HEPA filter, Dirt bin overfilled beyond MAX line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF and remove the battery before removing the dirt bin or filters.
- 1. Empty the dirt bin: Remove the bin and empty it completely. Tap gently to dislodge compacted dust from the cyclone.
- 2. Clean the cyclone shroud: Use a soft brush to clean the mesh shroud inside the bin. Remove any fluff or hair wrapped around it.
- 3. Clean or replace the pre-motor filter:
- Remove the pre-motor filter (often a foam or pleated cartridge).
- Tap off loose dust. If washable, rinse under lukewarm water until clear. Squeeze gently (do not twist) and allow to air dry for at least 24 hours.
- Do not refit a damp filter; this can damage the motor.
- 4. Check the post-motor/HEPA filter: If your model has a rear HEPA filter, remove and inspect it. Replace if grey, clogged, or damaged.
- 5. Reset and test: Reassemble all components, refit the battery, and test suction. The E6/filter warning should clear once airflow is restored.
Regular filter maintenance (every 1–3 months depending on use) prevents E6 faults and protects the motor.
