Possible Causes
Faulty Vax charger or docking station, Damaged charging contacts on battery, Broken charging port or wiring in main body, Mains supply issue or blown charger fuse (where fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the charger from the mains before inspecting it. Do not use a damaged charger.
- 1. Check mains outlet: Plug another device into the same socket to confirm it has power.
- 2. Inspect the charger:
- Look for frayed cables, cracked housing, or burn marks.
- If the charger is damaged, stop using it immediately and replace with an original Vax charger.
- 3. Clean charging contacts: On removable batteries, clean the metal contacts on both the battery and charger with a dry cloth.
- 4. Try a different charger or battery (if available): This helps identify whether the fault lies with the charger, battery, or vacuum body.
- 5. Check the docking station wiring (if wall-mounted): Ensure the dock is firmly mounted and the power cable is not pinched or damaged.
If E9 persists with a known-good charger and mains supply, the internal charging circuit or battery may be faulty and should be inspected by a technician.
