Possible Causes
Pre-motor filter loaded with fine dust, Filter not seated correctly after cleaning, Use in very dusty environments without frequent maintenance
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Switch OFF and remove the battery before removing filters.
- 1. Remove and inspect the pre-motor filter: Access it via the dirt bin or top cover depending on model. If it appears grey or caked with dust, it needs cleaning.
- 2. Clean the filter:
- Tap gently over a bin to remove loose dust.
- If washable, rinse under lukewarm running water until the water runs clear.
- Allow to air dry completely for at least 24 hours.
- 3. Refit correctly: Ensure the filter is fully dry and seated flat in its housing. An incorrectly fitted filter can allow dust to bypass and trigger warnings.
- 4. Reset the reminder (if applicable): Some models clear the F1 code automatically after a successful run; others may require holding a specific button combination (refer to the user manual).
Replace the filter if it remains discoloured or damaged after cleaning.
