Possible Causes
HEPA filter saturated with fine dust, Filter used beyond recommended replacement interval, Filter exposed to moisture and clogged
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Remove the battery before accessing the rear or side filter covers.
- 1. Locate the HEPA/post-motor filter: Typically at the rear of the handheld body or under a side cover.
- 2. Inspect the filter: If it is dark grey, smells musty, or has visible dust matting the pleats, it should be replaced.
- 3. Replace the filter: Fit a genuine Vax replacement HEPA/post-motor filter of the correct type for your model.
- 4. Check airflow: After replacement, run the vacuum and confirm that exhaust airflow has improved and the F2 code clears.
Do not wash non-washable HEPA filters unless the manual explicitly states they are washable.
