Brush Bar Overload / Height Sensor Fault
Cordless Vax vacuum shows “F3” and the brush bar stops intermittently, especially on thick carpets.

Possible Causes
Floorhead height too low for carpet pile, Excessive resistance from deep-pile rugs, Partially jammed brush bar bearings, Faulty brush bar overload sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and remove the battery before working on the floorhead.
- 1. Adjust cleaning mode: If your Vax has a hard floor/carpet selector, ensure it is set correctly for the surface.
- 2. Clean the brush bar and end caps: Remove the brush bar and clear all hair and fibres. Ensure the bar spins freely in your hands.
- 3. Test on a hard floor: Reassemble and test the vacuum on a hard surface. If F3 does not appear, the issue may be excessive resistance from certain carpets.
- 4. Avoid very thick rugs: For deep-pile rugs, use a non-motorised tool or reduce pressure by lifting the head slightly.
If F3 appears even on hard floors with a clean brush bar, the floorhead’s overload sensor or motor may be faulty and the motorised head should be replaced.
