Dishwasher has a bad smell even when empty

Safety first: Turn off power before cleaning inside the sump.

• Clean filters thoroughly: Remove all filters and wash them with hot soapy water.
• Clean sump and door seals: Wipe the sump area, door gasket, and corners with a cloth and mild detergent to remove slime.
• Run hot cleaning cycle: Run an empty cycle at the highest temperature with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of dishwasher-safe descaler.
• Leave door ajar: After cycles, leave the door slightly open to allow ventilation and prevent mold growth.
