Possible Causes
Clogged drain filter, Blocked drain hose, Obstructed or failed drain pump, Blocked sink siphon connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before reaching into the sump or working under the machine.
- Clean filters: Open the door, remove the lower basket, twist out the coarse and fine filters in the sump, and rinse them thoroughly.
- Check for debris: Shine a torch into the sump and remove any glass, food, or labels that may block the pump inlet.
- Inspect drain hose: Check behind the dishwasher and under the sink to ensure the drain hose is not kinked or crushed. Detach it from the sink trap and flush it with water to clear blockages.
- Check sink connection: If recently installed, ensure the knockout plug in the sink trap spigot has been removed.
- Test drain pump: With power disconnected, access the base, locate the drain pump, and check for obstructions in the impeller. If the impeller is jammed or the pump hums but does not turn during operation, the pump may need replacement.
