Possible Causes
Water leak into base tray, Stuck or faulty float switch, Overfilling due to defective inlet valve, Split hose or loose clamp
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close the water tap immediately to prevent further flooding.
- Check for visible leaks: Look around and under the dishwasher for water on the floor or dripping from the cabinet.
- Empty base tray: Carefully pull the dishwasher out. Tilt it slightly backward (about 30–45°) over a towel to allow water in the base tray to drain out. This may temporarily reset the float switch.
- Dry thoroughly: Leave the machine unplugged with the toe-kick removed for several hours to dry the base and float switch.
- Inspect hoses and clamps: With the base panel removed, examine the circulation pump hoses, drain hose, and inlet hose for cracks or loose clamps. Tighten or replace as needed.
- If E4 returns: The inlet valve may be overfilling or the float switch may be faulty. These parts should be tested and replaced if necessary.
