Possible Causes
Seized circulation pump motor, Foreign object in circulation pump, Faulty motor capacitor, Burnt circulation pump winding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water supply. Allow the machine to cool before working underneath.
- Confirm water fill: Start a program and listen. If you hear filling but no spray and then E05, the circulation pump is suspect.
- Check for blockages: Remove filters and inspect the sump for broken glass, bones, or plastic that could jam the pump impeller.
- Access circulation pump: Pull the dishwasher out and lay it on its back. Remove the bottom cover. The circulation pump is the larger motor attached to the sump or heater assembly.
- Inspect and test: Disconnect the pump wiring. Check the impeller for free movement by hand. If stiff or jammed, remove debris or replace the pump. Test the motor winding with a multimeter; if open or shorted, replace the pump.
- Check start capacitor: Some Arcelik models use an external capacitor on the circulation pump. Inspect for bulging or leakage. Replace if defective.
