Possible Causes
Misaligned door latch, Broken door lock mechanism, Faulty door switch, Damaged wiring harness at door hinge
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before removing any panels.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and latches with a clear click. Inspect the door gasket for obstructions preventing full closure.
- Inspect latch strike: Look at the metal or plastic strike on the cabinet frame. If bent or loose, adjust or tighten so it aligns with the door lock.
- Test door switch: With power off, remove the inner door panel screws to access the door lock assembly. Check the microswitch for mechanical click and continuity with a multimeter when the latch is engaged.
- Check wiring at hinge: Inspect the harness where it passes through the door hinge area for broken or frayed wires. Repair or replace as needed.
- Replace door lock: If the switch or latch is physically damaged or fails continuity tests, install a new Arcelik-compatible door lock assembly and reassemble the door.
