Possible Causes

Faulty float switch in base tray, Stuck float due to debris, Water leak into base triggering safety system, Wiring fault to float switch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher. Be prepared for water when tilting the appliance.

  • Check for leaks: Pull the dishwasher out and inspect the base tray through the bottom or side panels. If water is present, the anti-flood float may be activated.
  • Drain base tray: Carefully tilt the dishwasher backward to allow water to drain from the base. Use towels to absorb any spillage.
  • Inspect float switch: Locate the float and microswitch in the base. Ensure the float moves freely and is not stuck by grease or debris. Clean as needed.
  • Find and fix leak source: Examine hoses, clamps, the sump seal, and the circulation pump for signs of leakage. Tighten clamps or replace damaged components.
  • Reset and test: Once the base is dry and leaks are addressed, restore power and run a short cycle to confirm that E12 does not reoccur.
