Possible Causes

Stuck-open or stuck-closed Aquastop valve, Electrical failure of inlet valve coil, Damaged Aquastop hose, Control board valve driver fault

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power and close the water tap before handling the inlet hose.

  • Inspect Aquastop hose: Check the external Aquastop box on the inlet hose for damage or signs of overheating.
  • Check for continuous filling: With power off and water tap open, see if water continues to enter the dishwasher. If so, the valve is mechanically stuck open and must be replaced immediately.
  • Test valve coil: Remove the lower panel to access the inlet valve (if not integrated in the hose). Measure coil resistance with a multimeter. Replace if open circuit.
  • Replace Aquastop/inlet valve: If the valve is stuck or electrically faulty, install a new Arcelik-compatible Aquastop hose or inlet valve assembly.
  • Control board check: If a new valve does not resolve E16, the main PCB may not be controlling the valve correctly and may require professional service.
