Possible Causes
Dirty filters not cleaned regularly, Standing water in sump, Grease build-up in Candy drain hose and pump, Low-temperature cycles used exclusively
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before deep cleaning internal parts.
- Thoroughly clean filters: Remove and scrub the filter assembly with hot soapy water. Clean the coarse filter and fine mesh.
- Clean sump and door seals: Wipe the sump area, door gasket, and corners of the tub with a cloth soaked in hot water and mild detergent.
- Run a hot cleaning cycle: Use a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar on the top rack and run the hottest program with no dishes.
- Use regular hot cycles: Avoid using only low-temperature eco cycles. Run an intensive program periodically to reduce grease build-up.
- Check drain hose: If odor persists, the drain hose or sink trap may harbor debris. Clean or replace as needed.
