Possible Causes
Open-circuit or shorted NTC sensor, Corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and control board, Control board input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before accessing the sump or heater area.
- Locate NTC sensor: On many Candy dishwashers, the NTC is clipped into the sump or heater housing underneath the tub.
- Inspect connector: Check for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins at the NTC plug. Dry and reseat the connector firmly.
- Test NTC (for experienced users): Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance at room temperature. Compare with Candy service specifications (typically several kΩ). A reading of 0 Ω or infinite resistance indicates a faulty sensor.
- Check wiring: Follow the harness from the NTC to the control board for damage or pinched sections.
- Replace if faulty: Install a new NTC sensor compatible with your Candy model. If the sensor and wiring are good, the control board may require replacement.
