Possible Causes
Loose or corroded sensor connectors, Faulty NTC or turbidity sensor, Damaged wiring harness, Control board communication fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Reseat connectors: Access the sump area and side panels. Reseat the connectors for the NTC sensor, turbidity sensor, and any other visible sensors.
- Inspect harness: Look for pinched, cut, or burnt wires, especially where the harness passes near moving parts or sharp edges.
- Run a test cycle: After reseating connectors, run a short cycle to see if E16 reappears.
- Component testing: If you have a multimeter, test the NTC and turbidity sensor resistances against Candy specifications.
- Persistent E16: If all sensors test correctly, the control board may have an internal communication fault and require replacement by a technician.
