Possible Causes
Dirty or scaled turbidity sensor window, Faulty turbidity sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and main control board, Control board misreading sensor values
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels or accessing sensors.
- Run a cleaning cycle: Before dismantling, run a hot intensive cycle with a dishwasher cleaner or a cup of white vinegar (no dishes) to remove grease and deposits that may affect the sensor.
- Locate turbidity sensor: On many Candy dishwashers, the turbidity (optical) sensor is mounted in the sump or on the side of the tub as a small plastic module with a clear window.
- Clean sensor area: Remove the lower spray arm and filter assembly. From inside the tub, gently clean around the sensor window with a soft cloth and hot soapy water. Do not scratch the plastic lens.
- Check wiring: From the underside or side panel, inspect the sensor connector and wiring harness for corrosion or loose contacts. Reseat the connector.
- If E6 persists: Replace the turbidity sensor with the correct Candy spare part. If a new sensor does not resolve the issue, the main control board may require diagnosis by a technician.
