Possible Causes
Foreign object in circulation or drain pump, Worn pump bearings, Loose mounting brackets, Dishwasher cabinet touching surrounding units
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the underside of the appliance.
- Check for loose items: Ensure no cutlery or dishes are protruding into the spray arms.
- Inspect spray arms: Spin them by hand to check for contact with racks or tall items.
- Access pumps: Remove the bottom panel and listen while briefly running the machine (only for trained persons, with extreme caution). Identify whether the noise comes from the circulation pump or drain pump.
- Check for debris: Remove the suspect pump and inspect for glass, stones, or other objects in the impeller.
- Tighten mounts: Ensure the dishwasher is level and that side mounting brackets are secure but not forcing the cabinet against adjacent units.
- Replace noisy pump: If bearings are worn and noise persists, replace the affected pump with a CDA-compatible unit.
