Possible Causes
Failed drying fan motor, Open-circuit drying heater, Blocked air duct, Faulty thermal fuse in drying circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before removing the door or top cover.
- Confirm symptom: Dishes remain wet and cool at the end of the cycle, and E12 is shown.
- Access drying unit: On many CDA models, the drying fan and heater are located in the door or at the top rear of the cabinet. Remove the inner door panel or top cover to access.
- Check for blockages: Inspect air ducts and vents for lint, grease, or obstructions. Clean thoroughly.
- Inspect wiring and connectors: Look for burnt connectors or broken wires to the fan and heater.
- Electrical tests: With a multimeter, check continuity of the fan motor, heater element, and any inline thermal fuse. Replace any open-circuit components.
- Replace faulty parts: Fit CDA-compatible drying fan, heater, or thermal fuse as required. Ensure all seals and ducts are correctly reassembled.
