Possible Causes
Foreign object in circulation pump, Seized pump bearings, Overheated motor, Restricted water path to pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage when opening the sump or pump.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove all filters and inspect the sump for broken glass, bones, or other debris.
- Access circulation pump: Remove the bottom panel and locate the circulation pump attached to the sump.
- Check impeller: Detach the pump and inspect the impeller for obstructions. Ensure it rotates freely.
- Inspect bearings: If the impeller is stiff or noisy when turned by hand, the bearings may be worn, requiring pump replacement.
- Reassemble and test: After clearing any blockage, refit the pump and run a test cycle. If E13 returns, the motor may be overheating and should be replaced.
