Possible Causes
Ongoing leak from hose or pump, Cracked sump or tub, Loose heater or pump seal, Repeated activation of base float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and turn off water supply immediately. Do not attempt to run the dishwasher until the leak is found and fixed.
- Remove water from base: Pull out the dishwasher and tilt it slightly to drain water from the base tray onto towels. Remove the bottom panel to fully dry the base.
- Inspect while running: With panels removed and extreme caution around live parts, run a short cycle and observe for drips. Focus on the sump, circulation pump, heater connections, inlet valve, and hoses.
- Tighten and reseal: Tighten hose clamps, replace perished O-rings, and reseat seals as needed.
- Check sump and tub: Look for cracks or damage. A cracked sump or tub usually requires replacement of the entire sump assembly or, in severe cases, the appliance.
- Verify float switch operation: Ensure the float moves freely and the micro-switch clicks when lifted. Replace the float switch if it is sticking or damaged.
