Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or hose, Faulty pressure switch, Wiring issue between pressure switch and control board, Excessive foaming from wrong detergent affecting level sensing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and close the water supply tap before removing panels.
- Check detergent use: Ensure you are using dishwasher-specific tablets or powder and not hand-washing liquid. Excess foam can confuse level sensors.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove and clean all filters and check the sump for grease buildup that could block the pressure chamber.
- Access pressure switch: On many CDA models, the pressure switch and its small hose are located on the side of the tub or base. Remove the side panel to access.
- Inspect pressure hose: Detach the thin hose from the switch and the sump/pressure chamber. Blow gently through it to ensure it is clear. Rinse if blocked with grease.
- Check pressure chamber: If accessible, clean out any sludge or scale where the hose connects to the tub.
- Test switch (for trained persons): With a multimeter, check continuity across the switch terminals while gently blowing into the pressure port. The contacts should change state. If not, the switch is likely faulty.
- Replace if necessary: Fit a CDA-compatible pressure switch and reassemble. Run a test cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
