Possible Causes
Dirty turbidity sensor window, Faulty turbidity sensor, Wiring fault to sensor, Excessive grease or soil in sump affecting readings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels or sensors.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove all filters and thoroughly clean the sump area to remove grease and food residues.
- Locate turbidity sensor: On many CDA models, the turbidity sensor is mounted on the side of the sump or in a side tank and has a small clear window into the water path.
- Clean sensor window: Remove the sensor if possible and gently clean the optical window with a soft cloth and warm soapy water. Do not scratch the surface.
- Check wiring: Inspect the sensor connector and harness for corrosion or damage. Reseat the connector.
- Test cycle: Reassemble and run an intensive program to flush the system. If E8 persists, the sensor may be defective.
- Replace sensor: Fit a CDA-compatible turbidity sensor, ensuring seals are correctly positioned to avoid leaks.
