How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before reaching into the sump or working under the sink.
- Clean filters: Remove and thoroughly clean the coarse and fine filters.
- Check sump and pump inlet: Look for food, glass, or labels blocking the sump or pump inlet and remove carefully.
- Inspect drain hose: Detach the hose from the sink or disposer and flush with hot water. Ensure it is not kinked and that a proper high loop is present.
- Check disposer knockout: If recently installed to a new garbage disposer, ensure the dishwasher inlet knockout plug has been removed.
- Test drain pump: If the pump hums but does not move water, it may be jammed or failed and should be replaced.
