Open or shorted heater element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Burnt heater wiring, Defective control board heater relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the unit to cool.
- Access heater: Remove the bottom panel to locate the heater assembly (flow-through or integrated).
- Check wiring: Inspect heater terminals and wiring for burns or loose connections.
- Test heater and NTC: Use a multimeter to measure resistance of the heater and NTC sensor. Replace any component that is open, shorted, or out of spec.
- Control board: If components test good, the control board may not be energizing the heater and may require replacement.
