Possible Causes
Blocked pressure chamber or hose, Faulty Electrolux pressure sensor, Wiring issue between sensor and control board, Control board misreading sensor signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
- Reset the unit: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore and try a short cycle. If i40 returns, proceed with inspection.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove and clean the filters and check the sump for heavy grease or debris that could affect water level sensing.
- Inspect pressure hose: Access the pressure sensor (usually mounted on the side of the sump or tub base). Remove the small rubber hose and blow through it to clear any blockage. Ensure it is not kinked or cracked.
- Check pressure chamber: If your model has a side-mounted pressure chamber, remove and rinse it to clear soap scum and residue.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the hose and chamber are clear but i40 persists, the Electrolux pressure sensor may be defective and should be replaced, ensuring the connector is firmly seated.
