Possible Causes
Failed flow-through heater or integrated heater, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt heater wiring, Faulty main control board heater relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Heating components can retain heat; allow time to cool.
- Confirm symptom: Run a hot cycle and open the door mid-cycle (carefully). If the water is cold and i60 appears, the heater circuit is suspect.
- Inspect wiring: Access the bottom or side panel to locate the heater assembly. Check for burnt connectors or loose wiring to the heater and NTC sensor.
- Test heater: With power disconnected, use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heater terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Check NTC sensor: Measure resistance of the NTC temperature sensor and compare to Electrolux specifications (resistance should change with temperature). Replace if readings are out of range.
- Control board: If heater and sensor test good, the control board heater relay may be defective and the board may need replacement by a professional.
