Water remains in the bottom of the dishwasher between cycles, slowly seeping back in after draining.

Possible Causes
Drain hose installed without high loop, No air gap where required, Clogged sink or disposer causing backflow, Drain hose connected to wrong side of trap
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before working under the sink.
- Inspect drain hose routing: Ensure the hose rises to a high loop under the countertop before connecting to the sink drain or disposer.
- Install air gap (if required): In some regions, an air gap is required to prevent backflow. Install or clean the air gap as needed.
- Clear sink drain: Make sure the sink drain and disposer are not partially blocked, which can cause water to back up into the dishwasher.
- Re-test: After correcting the hose routing, run a drain cycle and monitor for backflow.
