Possible Causes
Clogged Frigidaire drain hose, Blocked air gap or garbage disposer knockout not removed, Obstructed sump or filter assembly, Weak or failed drain pump
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before servicing. Expect some water spillage when opening hoses.
- Clean filters and sump: Remove the lower rack. Twist and lift out the fine and coarse filters. Rinse under hot water and clear any debris from the sump opening.
- Check drain hose routing: Inspect under the sink. Ensure the hose has a high loop or air gap and is not kinked or crushed.
- Inspect air gap / disposer: If you have an air gap, remove the cap and clean out debris. If connected to a new garbage disposer, confirm the disposer drain knockout plug was removed.
- Test drain pump: With power off, access the bottom front of the dishwasher. Check the drain pump area for obstructions (glass, seeds). If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent and getting power, replace the drain pump.
Reassemble, restore power, and run a rinse cycle to confirm proper draining.
