Possible Causes
Failed heating element, Open high-limit thermostat, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Relay failure on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Heating components can retain heat; allow the unit to cool before touching internal parts.
- Run a hot water test: Start a cycle and, after 10–15 minutes, carefully open the door to check if the water feels warm. If not, suspect a heating issue.
- Inspect wiring and connectors: Access the bottom of the tub to locate the heating element terminals and high-limit thermostat. Ensure connectors are tight and not burned.
- Test heating element: With a multimeter, check the element for continuity. Replace if open.
- Check high-limit thermostat and sensor: Test the high-limit thermostat for continuity at room temperature. If open, replace. If both element and thermostat are good, the NTC sensor or control board may be faulty and should be tested or replaced according to the service manual.
Do not bypass safety thermostats. If unsure, contact a professional technician.
