Possible Causes
Failed vent fan motor, Blocked vent outlet, Faulty fan speed sensor, Control board not reading fan feedback
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before accessing the door components.
- Check vent outlet: Inspect the vent outlet on the top or side of the door for blockages such as mineral buildup or debris. Clean thoroughly.
- Access fan assembly: Remove the inner door panel to reach the vent fan. Check for obstructions preventing the fan from spinning freely.
- Test and replace fan: Spin the fan by hand; if stiff or noisy, replace the vent fan assembly. Verify electrical continuity with a multimeter.
- Control board check: If a new fan does not resolve UF, the main control board may not be reading the fan feedback correctly and may require replacement.
Ensure all door screws are reinstalled to maintain proper sealing and safety.
