Possible Causes
Door not fully closed, Faulty door switch, Child lock activated, Defective start button or user interface board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the door; damage to the latch can be costly.
- Check door closure: Close the door firmly until you hear a click. Ensure racks or tall dishes are not obstructing the door.
- Child lock: Consult the user manual for your Gorenje model to see if a key or lock symbol is lit. Deactivate the child lock by holding the specified button combination.
- Reset program: Press and hold the Start/Cancel button (or follow manual instructions) to reset any previous program, then reselect a cycle.
- Door switch test: If the display shows door open even when closed, the door lock assembly may be faulty and should be replaced.
If the control panel is unresponsive or some buttons do not work, the user interface board may need replacement.
