Possible Causes
Faulty integrated heater-pump unit, Limescale buildup in heater, Wiring fault between heater and control board, Defective NTC sensor on heater body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power and close the water supply.
- Visual inspection: Remove the bottom panel and inspect the heater-pump assembly for signs of overheating, discoloration, or leaks.
- Check connectors: Ensure all plugs to the heater, NTC sensor, and pump are firmly seated.
- Descale (limited): If heavy limescale is visible, run an empty hot cycle with a dishwasher descaler. This may improve performance but will not fix a failed heater.
- Electrical test: With a multimeter, measure resistance of the heater and NTC. Compare to service specifications; an open heater or out-of-range sensor indicates replacement.
Most E9 faults require replacement of the complete heater-pump module. This is a complex repair; consider using an authorized Gorenje technician.
