Dishwasher door does not latch properly; cycle will not start or stops when door is touched.

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher before adjusting hardware.

• Check latch engagement: Close the door and check if it requires firm pressure to latch. If it feels loose, adjust the strike plate.
• Adjust strike plate: Loosen the screws on the metal strike at the top of the tub opening. Move it slightly inward or outward to improve latch engagement, then retighten.
• Tighten door screws: Tighten the screws holding the inner and outer door panels together to reduce flex.

If the latch mechanism is worn or cracked, replace the door lock assembly.
