Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher and close the water tap.

Listen for pump: After filling, you should hear a strong washing noise. A low hum or silence indicates pump trouble.
Check for obstructions: Remove filters and inspect the sump for foreign objects near the pump inlet. Remove any debris.
Access pump (experienced users): Lay the dishwasher on its back, remove the bottom panel, and locate the circulation pump. Check connectors and attempt to rotate the impeller by hand. If stiff or seized, replace the pump.

If the pump spins freely but does not run during a cycle, the control board or wiring may be defective and should be checked professionally.

Dishwasher fills with water but does not wash; spray arms do not move and dishes remain dirty.
