Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dishwasher from mains power and close the water supply tap before working on hoses or internal parts.
- Check water supply: Ensure the kitchen water tap feeding the dishwasher is fully open and that household water pressure is normal. Try another tap to confirm pressure.
- Inspect inlet hose: Pull the dishwasher forward slightly, close the water tap, and disconnect the inlet hose from the tap. Clean the small mesh filter inside the hose end using a soft brush. If your Hansa model has an AquaStop hose, check for kinks or crushing along the hose length.
- Check for hose kinks: Verify that the inlet hose is not sharply bent or pinched behind the cabinet or under the machine.
- Test a reset: Reconnect the hose, open the tap fully, restore power, and run a short program to see if the error clears.
- Advanced check (for experienced users): Remove the left or bottom access panel to locate the water inlet valve assembly. With power disconnected, inspect wiring connectors for burning or looseness. If the valve coil is open-circuit (test with a multimeter), the valve must be replaced.
If E1 persists after confirming water supply and hose condition, the inlet valve or flow sensor should be tested and replaced by a qualified technician.
