Possible Causes
Faulty water softener valve, Blocked salt tank or brine chamber, Defective regeneration flow meter, Control board programming error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before removing panels.
- Check salt level: Open the salt reservoir cap in the bottom of the tub and ensure it contains dishwasher salt. Top up if empty and wipe away any spilled salt from the tub.
- Inspect for salt bridging: If the salt tank is hard and solid, break up the salt bridge gently with a wooden spoon handle and add fresh salt.
- Run a regeneration cycle: Some Hansa models allow a manual regeneration or intensive program. Run this after refilling salt to reset the system.
- Check softener valve (advanced): Access the side of the dishwasher to locate the softener valve on the water softener tank. Ensure wiring is intact. A failed valve coil will require replacement.
If E10 persists, the softener system or control board may need professional diagnosis.
