Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Loose sensor connector, Damaged wiring harness to sensor, Control board input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing internal components.
- Locate the NTC: On many Hansa dishwashers, the NTC temperature sensor is mounted in the sump or on the heater housing. Remove the lower front or side panel to access it.
- Check connection: Ensure the sensor plug is firmly connected and free of corrosion or moisture.
- Visual inspection: Look for cracks in the sensor body or signs of overheating.
- Measure resistance (experienced users): With the sensor disconnected, measure its resistance at room temperature. Typical values are 40–60 kΩ (check service data for your model). A reading of 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a failed sensor.
If the sensor tests good but E9 remains, the control board may be faulty and should be checked by a professional.
