Dishwasher will not fill with water, cycle stops shortly after start and displays E1.

Safety first: Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the circuit breaker and close the water supply valve before working on the appliance.

• 1. Check household water supply: Ensure the under-sink shutoff valve feeding the Hisense dishwasher is fully open. Confirm there is normal water pressure at the kitchen faucet.
• 2. Inspect inlet hose and valve filter: Pull the dishwasher slightly out if needed. Turn off water, disconnect the inlet hose from the Hisense inlet valve at the bottom-left or bottom-right rear. Remove and rinse the small mesh filter screen inside the valve with a soft brush to clear sediment.
• 3. Straighten and flush the hose: Make sure the inlet hose is not kinked or crushed. Run water through the hose into a bucket to confirm good flow.
• 4. Test the inlet valve: With power still OFF, access the bottom front panel, locate the Hisense water inlet valve, and check for obvious damage or leaks. If you have a multimeter and are qualified, test the valve coil for continuity. An open coil indicates a failed valve that must be replaced.
• 5. Reset and test: Reconnect the hose, restore water and power, and run a short cycle. If E1 returns despite good water supply and a clean filter, the inlet valve or control board water-level sensing circuit may be faulty and should be replaced or diagnosed by a technician.
