Dishwasher does not drain, water remains in the bottom of the tub and E2 is displayed.

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker and avoid standing water with live electricity.

• 1. Clean the internal filters: Open the door, remove the lower rack, and twist out the Hisense fine filter and coarse filter from the sump. Rinse under warm water and remove food debris, glass, or labels.
• 2. Check the sump area: Shine a flashlight into the sump where the drain pump draws water. Remove any foreign objects (bones, seeds, plastic) that may block the impeller.
• 3. Inspect the drain hose: At the back or under the sink, ensure the Hisense drain hose is not kinked or crushed. Detach it from the sink drain or disposer and flush it with hot water to clear grease or sludge.
• 4. Check sink/disposer connection: If recently installed to a garbage disposer, confirm the disposer knockout plug was removed. A blocked inlet will prevent draining.
• 5. Test the drain pump: Remove the lower front kick panel, locate the Hisense drain pump, and check for obstructions in the pump inlet. If the pump hums but does not turn, or is silent and tests open-circuit with a meter, replace the drain pump assembly.
• 6. Run a drain-only or cancel cycle: Restore power and run a drain or cancel program. If E2 persists after cleaning and hose checks, the drain pump or control board output may need professional replacement.
